My work laptop is windows sadly. It has to run a bunch of endpoint sec stuff. I get it, but still sucks. On occasion I do dual boot (separate drive) when some update breaks something and I have to have a PC to fix something asap.

You joke but it would be an awesome project. Maybe replace the screen with a real LCD, shove an rpi inside etc.
Won’t make much of a difference usually. Worst that may come up is having to import the key from the distro during boot of your flashdrive. Otherwise go through the installer, delete windows or tell installer to wipe the disk and install over windows.
Hard to say. But it’s something to consider. Lots of other worthwhile suggestions I see too. Hopefully it’s not a combination of things.
Let us know how it goes!
Laptops now use the internal main battery as a replacement of the cmos rs2032 battery (in a lot of em at least).
Not that such a low draw cause this level of drain. Maybe the battery is going out as well.
11 minutes to 55 seconds in their example is interesting. I’d wager this won’t do much for the consumer side, but enterprise…could save tons of time.
Was being sarcastic 🤣
I’ve been team red for a very long time. I’ve never thought of them as top of the line. CPU has shifted, but I’ve got no delusions about the GPU side. My 7800xt is great. Handles everything I need it for. I don’t care about Ray tracing. And I know its not comparable to most of the 40xx offerings.
Is your Nord VPN on? /S
Edit: Forgot this was sarcasm
My ~230$ android phone has 120hz screen and very similar features. However, I had to turn the refresh rate back to 60 cuz it was chewing through battery. (5kma)
Its not for everyone, same as any other DE. I will say on portable devices it can be nice for staying out of the way.
Extensions are fairly easy to use too. Let’s you add and customize stuff. Honestly just spin up a fedora VM and see for yourself?
It’s nothing like the beloved gtk of old, but I don’t always agree with the hate.
So, Nightmare Before Christmas?
Two physical drives. Install windows first in one, then Linux on the other. If you don’t do this order windows boot manager will take over and you’ll have to boot Linux from bios.
For the non Americans: our politicians often refer to undocumented immigrants as ‘illegal aliens’. Alien just referring to the general foreign entity definition. So this phrase would translate to undocumented immigrants committing crimes.
Dude is a total ass-wipe though.
Good point. About the only way I can stomach eggs is being scrambled. Any other way and it becomes a texture/smell issue.
Otherwise ya, I’d be ok if restaurants just had a random ‘button’
Binoculars
DNS is handled by my rpi that’s running pi-hole and wireguard. It has static entries for quad nine and it’s secondaries. Router (generic rax10 Netgear, nothing fancy, and it’s not obnoxious like the nighthawks) DNS points to rpi.
So any device, set with dhcp, will use that. One day I’ll have a opnsense or similar box to go even further.
Maybe I’m missing a setting, but I can’t get this to scale with my vertical monitor. Rearranging the layout would be cool too.
Otherwise ya this looks and works well.
