Yeah in a global environment essentially China is the workforce/factory workers of the previous gilded age.

Maybe 15-20 years ago, but not so much anymore. Cost of labor has been rising in China dramatically to the point that a lot of manufacturing is leaving China.

I’d argue the hate come after the “practical” reasoning. They target a group for various reasons (as a scapegoat, to create the illusion of progress, to steal resources, etc) then create an intellectual framework to justify their targeting of the group. The hatred comes out of that justification.
