Empathy, as always, is the real problem with the GOP. They are perfectly fine when it’s immigrants, liberals, gays, brown people, etc that suffer these laws. When angry white people get affected, then they are suddenly sad about it and suddenly were the whole time.

I think the point is that it doesn’t matter how you got it, you still have an ethical responsibility to protect PII/PHI.

You might consider that social media is an aberration. We have decades of forums, newsgroups, and such–those still exist. I see federation/decentralization as a middle space between the two models.

Wrong decade. We’re talking about having internet explorer pre installed on windows 95 and 98. It was a really big antitrust thing.

Well you make that adjustable with infinite being one of the choices. Set it to a default of something like 25 and let the user increase if they need to.

You got into a super special sub full of shitposts lol. I posted once and ran away. I never paid for it but used to get it from awards. Then they made it paid only and there was never a reason to go back.

lol I also just got a shockingly random ban from a sub with a toxic mod. It made me realize what a stupid place it is. I’m also open to the idea that there’s really no good social media, even when federated. We may still have to deal with hateful and insecure mods, for instance.
