This image is hurting me
I can feel my hand cramping just looking at this.
Wife spilled some beer in the keyboard. Screen doesn’t turn on, it doesn’t hold a charge, keyboard doesn’t work. But we need sensitive data off the drive.
Take it to their “genius” bar where we are told there is nothing that can be done for the old data and we should just buy a new one.
I take it home, Google a bit and try target disk mode. Et Voila I’m in and can get that data from the hard drive as though it was an external HDD.
Why the Apple “genius” didn’t share this option with me? They don’t actually care about helping.
And that’s the rub with Apple. They don’t give a fuck about their users or developers. Just want to herd them around to make more money off their overpriced garbage.

Banks have laws and regulations that they must abide by to secure the access to and information of customer accounts. A security team will surely have to sign off on whatever the app developer or customer experience manager wants to implement.
Well there’s also just a lot more games now, and even retro games that have been around are competing (I’m playing RE1 for example, bought it recently cuz I’ve never played it before)
So I don’t think it’s intrinsically due to other life costs being high. When you have games like battlebit and palworld and lots of ftp games just saturating the market it’s hard to justify charging so much. People literally don’t have the lifespan to play all the games that exist and will continue to be created over time.
So that you can self host I think
I like this approach cuz it plays ball and can be reused for a number of products. Could have an “appliances” network and make a reusable fake “appliances” identity for any device that wants to IoT.
I like the idea of binding numbers to parent directory traversal. I do cd …/… a lot in one of my projects (switching between source code and terraform folder), it’d be handy to get out of the terraform folder by just typing 2
.
Super cool but got annoying really fast lmao
I don’t understand this community… it’s like discussion can’t be had because people’s opinions of linux get in the way of it somehow.
I don’t have any expertise here or I would offer my thoughts. Just frustrated to see the top comments not being helpful at all.
