I’m not sure off-hand since I’m not too familiar with VLC.

I would imagine it could be an issue in a graphics driver at the kernel (amdgpu?) or user level (mesa?). It could also be a problem in something higher up.

I would recommend posting an issue in the VLC repo and see if you can get better support that way.

Can you turn off hardware decoding and see if it works then?

Update 2: my boss apologized and moved the printer and resins out. 😊 I popped by after work tonight and it still smells but it’s not bad now.

Signal works. The adoption is fairly slow, but I’ve had friends slowly begin to use it.

My older brother got me into Ubuntu when I was around 12. He basically showed me the basics, like the terminal and a couple commands, then just told me to manpage or Google everything else.

If you’re not in school and just teaching yourself the material, get a better textbook. There are plenty of exceptional textbooks in physics on libgen. If it’s for a specific subject, I can probably recommend you a textbook.

I got a free computer and upgraded the processor to an i7-6700T (eBay) and some old SSDs. It measured around 15W and I haven’t had any problems with it. It is miles ahead of using any Pi or ARM-based SBC. I would really recommend just finding a used computer nearby, if possible. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace has some killer deals.

For cleaning out the connector, I get a piece of flat clamshell packaging, cut it into a V shape, then use that to carefully scrape out the gunk in the connector. It really helps if you have a stereo microscope or even a loupe, but isn’t required.

What’re you doing? I’d recommend Mikrotik, since you can do just about anything on it for cheap. It does however have a significant learning curve.

It’s kinda ironic that all the source parts links are for Amazon in order to build a device which doesn’t use Amazon, but I suppose that’s just the most readily available resource :-)

Way too many. I’d like to see occasional non-sexual NSFW content in my All feed, hence not turning on NSFW filtering, but lemmynsfw is too prolific in my All feed.
