Haven’t touched reddit socially in 8 months, but every now and then I’ll use it to search for opinions or instructions on things. Searched “reddit best domain registrar” recently and landed on a thread where top to bottom, every comment recommending a registrar was from a bot and/or banned account. No real person testimonials, all ads. And as AI implementations improve, that’s going to get harder to spot. In the meantime, I’m formatting searches like “best domain registrar lemmy” because reddit is legit that bad rn.

And there’s 3 billion Facebook users which means there must be trillions of companies spying on them! Crazy when you don’t think about it.

Most of my code is untyped. First I type it, then I realize it’s all wrong and use backspace to untype it.

My cat and I play a game where I ask, “Do you want a [word other than treat]?” five or six times before asking if he wants a treat, to teach him that not all questions mean treats are about to be given.

It’s insane the force with which he turns his face away from me, as if to say, “Excuse me but I really need to be in the kitchen right now, treats are about to be given,” when I ask if he wants a telephone. No matter how many times I tell him he has misheard, he simply does not believe me.
