Sure. I can’t wait to finally make the switch (Nvidia).

I’m more inclined to not be annoyed too much by ads on podcasts where you know it’s just some guy or gal getting compensated for the work they are putting into their podcast. That said, maybe I’m getting way fewer ads on Antennapod because of said adblocking, not sure.
I will say, it has a bug where it will not work in a work profile. You can install it but it won’t playback. Which is annoying. But for me it is a small complaint.
Oh it depends on what you need it for. There’s definitely some things socs are better for. No need to be up in arms about it.
Noice. I am currently on feeder but I’ll tale a look at this
If power consumption isn’t the be all end all concern for you, there is a lot to be said for the ability of x86 to boot into just about anything. You still don’t get that with ARM.
Oh gawd, I hate that (sorry 😅). But so long as it was just an option, even a default one, that would be fine with me.
I think Gnome wins as I have it. But I would take the vanilla macos shell (not the underlying OS, just the shell) over vanilla Gnome.
You sure about that? Isn’t the hash stored on the secure element? I don’t doubt some right high rolling actors can get in there but it doesn’t sound that trivial.
Nextcloud notes. They’ll sync as text filed between your devices. You can use markdown, and they have a mobile app.
Don’t know what you’re talking about.
Though I actually did finally listen to Linus’s review. Minus a few stupid things like “it’s too thick” or “I don’t like where the SIM slot is”, I think I mostly agree with him. It seem like the software at least has some major issues if he is to be believed.
A lot of men who think they are techies because they game or something but really aren’t.
Great answer. I do use systemd boot on one of my systems as well. It isn’t exactly systemd itself is it? Simply a boot loader packaged as part of the general systemd boot suite, right?
Because it cosys money to offer an app on iOS.
They are Satan incarnate.
Haha, I think we’re similar people. I also want a 16:10 screen. Maybe someday.
Just let them do what they want to do. They can live their life the way they choose.
I second price to performance ratio. If I had more money to burn I probably would go all in on some of these Linux-targeted laptops.
I’d also add a lot of them seem overpowered for my needs. I do like me a big screen but I don’t need a powerful GPU to go with it. I have a desktop rig for that. I can always just ssh into it if I need to do GPU heavy calculations.
For whatever reason the US never moved on from SMS… and Apple took advantage of that.
