I feel the same way sometimes. I’m a centrist as well, a lot of the people on both sidee in this platform do have extreme takes and have the “You must agree with me or I will ban you” attitude. I wish it was a bit more diverse, whenever I come on Lemmy it is completely saturated with leftists post. I have nothing against people on the left, its just the fact that content is so obviously saturated with it.
I think its because we aren’t allowed by default to post images, which I completely understand after what happened back a couple months ago. I’ve been using Lemmy for more then 4 months actively but yet I still don’t have permission to post pictures because of the fact that I’m too lazy to even try to get it enabled. This is a major reason why we aren’t seeing a lot of content.
Also, this tends to be mostly a leftist leaning app, so maybe some people get drawn away.
I don’t use Telegram but they don’t enable encryption by default? Last time I used Telegram I needed a phone number still, so, I’d say Signal has always been on top.
Debian is super easy to use, plus we have AI now at our fingertips which makes it even easier.
What about Yacy? I didn’t see that mentioned. I haven’t used it before, but I’ve heard you can self-host it and it offers decentralized search.
Does Kicksecure implement proprietary software into Debian? Personally me, I run OpenRC and the linux-libre kernel on my Debian 12 system on a Libreboot laptop with fully free software. Haven’t used Kicksecure in awhile.

I’ve had some challenging friendships in the past. People I believed cared about me ultimately didn’t. Now that I’m on my own, I genuinely feel more at peace, with much less drama surrounding me.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with embracing solitude until genuine friendships come along. I’d rather uphold my standards for what true friendship means than cling to something inauthentic.

Just installed the nvidia-driver for my 2080 SUPER and my system isn’t starting now. I’m using Debian 12.1 and after installing the driver, it crashes after entering in my password for my encrypted drive.
I will load up a Live USB and see if I can fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated!
How do I convince my family to move onto Signal? We’re missing half the family in the group chat because some of us use Android. BTW, they don’t give a crap about privacy and they know about the Subpoena signal got and are worried looking like criminals.
