not called Brad but rather a lad, from Bradford in the UK.
Enjoys breaking apps, escooters, spam rings and sometimes bones, but not my own. That sucks.
Completely missed the non-capitalisation on the HTC one. Oops
I had both HTC One’s and while the camera on both of them especially the m7 was dire purple durple shite, the battery life was never an issue for me and was when I first started seeing 6hr+ SOT constantly.
Telegram has the very public, very purposeful eye of the government on it right now.
Which, “government”, are you referring to here if you could expand please?
Or are you saying all governments are averse to Telegram?
Yep yep I bought a family member a couple of those fancy GLi routers that come with AdGuard built in.
It’s scary what a household’s tracked without it would look like, and they are none the wiser to the shit getting sinkholed to this day thankfully.
I’m down to 10% bollocks via NextDNS
and aim to bring it down further by dumping any apps/services that want to bum fugg me.
I felt like a right noobie when one of my colleagues said he’d got a Pixel tablet via the Play Store and asked him how he’d won it.
Apparently I don’t install and play shittons of games like them.
£500 was tempting to look into it further but as you say, that news pissed me off because I now know my mum is gonna install some bullshit that one of those guys might have picked up on.
We use a fair few shared mobile phones at work and while it has WiFi / unlimited mobile data is used solely as an absence line number because some of my fellow colleagues don’t have home internet, actively disable their mobile data (because they use a SMS / Call package only), and really can’t get their head around “the nets”/Whatsapp and don’t, want to, either.
Which I agree with to an extent since Whatsapp can suck my plums too. They exist and quite a few of them apparently.
There is a bonus to this thou since I get to call them names because of their neanderthal ways…
That’s kinda weird.
I’ve had a Meme11 Lite for a couple of years now and just bought another Poco. I don’t see no ads whatsoever, after I told Wallpaper Carousel to not nag me no more.
Alright I use NextDNS across router / device level but like I say I get none of these complaints and think it’s global releases for some?
I’m a capt’ three phones at the moment
While I’ve had my backup Samsung M12 with a 1pmobile SIM in my work locker for a couple of years now simply as an emergency backup, I’m also currently rocking two Xiaomi’s so I can test remote connections to a family members server via work WiFi/Tailscale.
My main issue is while I wear cargo pants at work, carrying two phones is more wieldy than you’d think and there’s also something else I did notice the other day with the Find My Device news.
I forgot where, I left my main phone the other day and my locker is a literal Faraday cage according to FMD? 10 minutes of panic :/
It’s just an app, not a lifestyle. 🤷
Now apply that thought to VLC and how many distros and apps use their libraries.
I thought I was a bit of a negative nancy but you take the cake 😆
You’d think they’d include an ethernet port on the device itself.
Or, hopefully they include a power brick with a RJ45 port. WiFi for streaming large high bitrate files is less than ideal especially if it’s touted as a set top streaming box.
APKMirror uses the hash from the Play Store to verify they’re serving you the legit apk.
It’s been around for years, the owner is very keen about their little baby, but relies on adverts. If you can put up with the latter you’re gucci
I wonder if what you could do is look into a Stingray device and plonk that in your car to make it to connect to that instead of local cell towers?

edit: whoa, I just looked at the prices of them. Surely there’s something a clever Trevor could put together here…
edit II: As someone else mentioned, Femtocells.
I’ve always wondered about buying one years ago but they seem like a rarity here these days. Also, manipulating that data / telemetry to show you in Antarctica has got to be on someone’s fun list?
So, I just had a gander myself and this is pretty involved

Maybe there’s some existing thing I’m missing but it would be cool :/
Yeah no doubt, and that’s why I like Tailscale.
I just map all users Tailnet visitors to guest
, and give me r/w and all others r/o.
Bugs me though that they could include it, with big red flashy warnings like you get enabling USB debugging.
I keep pondering why Android has blobs for CIFS/SMB but not NFS, too.
Still haven’t found a legit reason why.
Yeah! I’ve been working far too hard and meant to get back to you, and the main admin has had a IRL issue so I can’t nag them right now and they also mentioned they need to update the instance?
You had a gander through the docs/GitHub to see if an existing thing lives for scheduled posts and could be even hosted by a numbnuts here on a spare Pi etc?
How long has Google been killing things now?
my comment meant I was preparing to fight.
You’re not.
Google are thou hence the shadowboxing reference.
We do, twice a year and it annoys me no end since I work some shitty continental hours and sometimes have to watch the clock go backwards through the night.
