1·3 months agoExactly this. It’s crowd-sourced replacements for thumbnails and titles to more accurately reflect the content of the video. I only shared it because of the mention that the video was very much a clickbait title and thumbnail.
It’s crazy how much I actually use this tool. 99% of the time, it can figure out exactly what I was trying to accomplish.

91·1 year agoThats the case for most new platforms you get a surge of users and then some titer off and stop using the platform. But don’t look at the small dip look at the massive growth compared to a few months ago.
I might actually submit a feature request for this. Maybe default to simple wildcard blocks with an “advanced” mode that enables regex matching.

Elon has no idea how to run a social media company. At this point he’s just trying random shit hoping it will work. Get the platform operating successfully again and then worry about branding…
Mastodon is similar to Twitter, while Lemmy is similar to Reddit.
Continue what you’re doing on the desktop and set up beeper with only your Facebook account to handle messages from your phone. It’s still not great, but I think it’s the best you’re going to get. You’re really only gaining Facebook, not seeing where you’re connecting from. Also, Beeper is just a pretty front end to a matrix server with a bridge connecting to Facebook Messenger. You could totally run it yourself if you wanted; check out the “self-host” link near the bottom of the page.
