It does kinda suck being defederated from big instances like lemmy.ml because there are big communities there, but at the other end it’s nice to have alternatives on different instances. For example, I can’t view !programmerhumor@lemmy.ml but I can access !programmer_humor@programming.dev.

This kind of stuff makes me sad, in a way. Knowing there are people with psychological degrees whose job it is to ““indoctrinate”” people with marketing and advertisements to minmax profits.

I used OLauncher for a while, which is really nice for this purpose. Just text based and has a quick search in the app drawer. Currently use Lunar Launcher because it looks nicer.
