The rest of it still stands. I’m involved in local politics and I consistently vote for more progressive candidates, and we’ve had some victories. In a recent example, a homophobic asshat of a city council member gave up his seat to run for mayor. Not only did he lose that race, the woman who won his former seat is a progressive lesbian.

But you know who I almost never see at council meetings or at events for state level positions? The kind of terminally online leftists who constantly complain about the Democrats being too conservative. Apparently it’s more important to put other people’s rights and lives at risk to make some kind of stand than it is to try to make any real difference in the ways we can. Maybe someday we’ll have an electoral system that allows for more than 2 parties, but we sure as shit won’t if people can’t be bothered to pay attention to anything but the presidential race.

I’m not sure. I never use the full dnd setting, so I haven’t had to try any alternatives. I just know dnd seems to work better than apps that say they’ll block spam.

Put your phone on do not disturb for anyone not in your contacts. I almost never get spam calls anymore because my phone just sends them all straight to voicemail and they seem to have figured out that they’ll never get through to a real person. It took a few months, and I still had to clear out quite a few voicemails in that time but I didn’t get notifications about them so I could just clear them out at the end of the day.

I mean, this seems more sad than creepy. A lot of it sounds like him processing his childhood trauma, not any desire to torture kids himself.

It’s not sewing thread bobbins, it’s these - they’re just a thin piece of plastic to start with, so I think 3D printing will work fine. They mostly just sit in a box or on a ring if I’m taking a project with me somewhere.

So I don’t 3D print, and I just happened to come across this thread scrolling all, but on the flipside, is there a good way to commission someone to do smaller jobs? I embroider and the available floss bobbin options are a total suckfest. I would happily pay for some better ones, but I don’t know how to even find someone to give my money to?
