No, a language is not just a language. I fact, it’s a bunch of compilers. How many there are and the hardware they work on is what matters.
And as a matter of fact, rust isn’t as much of an industry standard as C++ is.

Oh so managers are biological LLMs! It explains everything!
I feel like like inventing the wheel every five years is not the best use of talented people’s time.
What’s the problem with the gecko engine?
Are you really arguing that you need overpowered weapons because the game is buggy?
Man you were talking about game design two comments ago. Now you’re talking about bugs. Make up your mind.
You are 4 in a team. A titan is killed with 1 precision strike. I’ve been in the situations you describe. A charger can only charge one person at a time. And one person can dance with 3 chargers for quite some time.
Sometimes a situation goes crazy. That’s the whole point of high difficulty. If you don’t want that, if you want the game to be a cakewalk, why do you play high difficulty?
Different things will affect your feeling : different missions have different enemy distribution for one, and biome and modifiers will make a massive difference in difficulty. I am also comfident sometimes MO planets have increased difficulty too.
And again, you don’t need anti heavy to kill a charger. Shoot the yellow part of the tail and even a primary can do it.
What you’re telling me here is that you weren’t coordinated with your team and not even trying to help eachother. Or that you were all clueless about how to kill a charger without AT weaponry.
If this is really the clueless part, this is very sad tbh.
I don’t play much public games, I play with some friends, and I felt the opposite. Usually playing lvl6 against bots, lvl7 against bugs. Lvl7 bugs felt like a cakewalk since the new patch.
But it depends on the planet too. Some planets are hells. Either because of the climate or because of enemy distribution.
It’s not marketing that they fail, it’s communication. They should tell ahead of time which weapons are on their watch list, so it doesn’t seem like it falls from nowhere.
It’s not a competitive game, so why do people feel the need to play the highest difficulty if they can’t deal with an enemy you learn in d4 mission?
There is no broken amount of chargers. There are people incapable of dealing with them, which makes situations degenerate into chaos, which is exactly the point of this kind of enemy.
Explosive detonation or something gives the grenade pistol that allows you to use utility grenade without sacrificing your ability to close bug holes or destroy fabricators. The weapons also have this ability. So this warbond will open more builds than any other warbond.
Cutting edge is right behind, or even arguably on par. Because it has the stun grenade, and excellent weapons. But the stun grenade is a game changer, trivializing hulks and chargers. It’s almost cheating.
Steel veteran goes after them, but it also has amazing weapons. But it’s a matter of preference after the first two. You can’t go wrong with this one while the other warbond are more hit and miss.
I must be clear that the problem is not that it rakes time to do the things if you have the right recipe to do them. It takes time to find it when you make a mistake.
The good way is simple: you need a system that’s well updated, so debian stable is not ideal and that was my first mistake. You need to use Proton on steam, or heroic game launcher for gog. And that’s it.
The setup for these things is straightforward, simply follow a guide for your OS.
Things got better and better in the last 2 years, and they’re still improving. I would argue that today Windows is not better. People learned how to install graphic drivers on windows, and any setup on Linux now is not harder than that.
Windows forced me to update to a version that has advertisement in it. It has built in network calls in the start menu. I would have to pay a licence and make an account, something I avoided for years. Sharing file on a private network is insanely hard to do and very buggy.
Now I’m not a Windows admin, but I’m a Linux admin, so there are many, many things I know how to do on Linux and not on Windows.
This made me realize that there is a bias: when something doesn’t work on windows, the something doesn’t work, or you only need to find how to hack it to work. But when something doesn’t work on Linux, it’s Linux that doesn’t work. That’s a double standard. The same kind of work or problems on Windows is ignored.
There are so many things today to help people use Windows, like classes, professionals, help desk, it’s everywhere, for everyone, yet it’s somehow considered easy to use windows. BTW any organisation that made the move did saw it happen. I mean that many organisations moved to Linux and gave the support and formation for it to work, and it worked.
My brother, who want nothing to do with computers if he can, asked me to install Linux on his domestic laptop. It’s not an everyone is doing it yet, but there’s definitely something.
Forcing everyone to stay connected will make pirating it harder, and that will drive many, many people away.
Playing on Linux for a year now. I wouldn’t say it was flawless, but a lot has to do with me learning how to do it correctly. Like using steam and heroic game launcher, trying a different version of Proton or wine, and it’s beginning to be very easy now that I have the right recipe so to say.
Sure, so tankies are everywhere on lemmy, and I’m probably one apparently, but no definition will be given…
I asked you about tankies, not fascists.
Going on a witch hunt against tankies and calling tankies everyone who disagree with you is not really showing you under a good light. As you said, referring to people as tankies want only and haphazardly will make you called a fascists, because only the fascists are hunting down tankies with definitions known to them only.
Again, throughout history the leftists are the first to fight and to be hunted down by the fascists. And as a matter of fact, the fight and the hunt has started in the western world.
Sure, Russia and China are fascists countries and bad in many ways. But USA and Europe are turning fascist too. That is what concerns me. And turning fascist in order to fight Russia or China is just stupid.
And what definition of tankie is used here? I’ve been called a tankie several times on this thread and on lemmy while I discovered this word here on lemmy.
Are you concerned you might be a fascist or are you trying to disregard and disqualify me based on whtt I consider a fascist?
My point is that here there is a witch hunt against supposed tankies whyle fascists are welcome. Considering the political climate in western countries, do you think fascism or tankism will be more prevalent? Why is the fight against tankies so much more prevalent on lemmy.world then?
When people support a genocide I tend to consider them fascists. When they consider leftists to be extremist of fascist, they are usually fascist themselves. When they promote authoritarianism, intolerance, xenophobia,… When people talk about wokes or wokism, they’re usually fascists. When they support US imperialism.
Most fascists blind themselves though, and the propaganda picture anyone against the fascists as fascists.
The biggest lie to picture the left as fascist simply because they don’t support liberalism. Leftists have always been the first victims of fascism. That should give you a hint.
One exception to it : fascists managed to convince people who can only lose stuff to a war that it’s good for them too.
