Lemmy is not a “they” who did this. Lemmy is the platform on which a user decided to share their canvas idea thing. Anyone who is not interested in this idea can block the person who posted it and any community where they see the same idea again.

Goodness, yes. I have used “block community” so many times for Lunux related things. Seems like half the site is gone, but I do feel like I belong more in the communities I’ve found
I’m still waiting for someone to come up with something sort of kind of like Place but not a complete clone.

Hmm, links to pictures elsewhere seems like it would be less work for the computer running the instance.
Do people running servers have any options for limiting the amount of pictures and video that users upload to their instance?
Having text-only communities sounds like a good way to attract the right people and be an unattractive option for people who just want max content.
