While all of it makes little sense in movies, short hair doesn’t. Reason why military cuts hair short is so your hair doesn’t get tangled in trees, bushes or fences, compromising you. It’s really of practical nature. But given how many cockups they make elsewhere in movies, I don’t think they were going for that kind of realism.

Still, don’t leave me in a fuckin uncertainty. It sucks to get rejected, but at least you know you can cross that one off your wishlist then.

I’d also appreciate if employers would just inform you that you were not picked. So many just ghost you so you wait and wait and eventually just give up and look elsewhere.

I mean, software support is part of sustainability. The longer it’s getting updates, the more secure it is and longer it will be functional from software aspect.

It really isn’t. Buyers need to be informed how long is phone supported officially. People don’t know how to install Windows or Linux on PC through simple installer wizard and you expect them to flash firmware on phone and deal with all the issues when bootloader is unlocked? No fucking chance. I’ve been there, phone wasn’t even rooted and banking apps were removed about bootloader because I was using LineageOS. It’s when I started using phones with very long official software support, because I just can’t be bothered dealing with that fuckery anymore.

Only OS that even allows re-locking of bootloader with 3rd party firmware is GrapheneOS on Pixels. It’s just too much hassle for everything else and I’ve been flashing phones for like 15 years…

Vivo is unobtainable in EU and its software support is very poor. Just throwing big specs at consumers is so 2010…

Missed opportunity to list how long software support is. So we could publicly shame companies with shit software support. Also they’d have to clearly state how many years of support you get instead of chasing the damn info online.

I actually didn’t care so much about bandwidth back then even though 56K modem was ass. It was the ad banners that drew me nuts. Especially since that was the era of flashing and blinking GIF and Adobe Flash banners. I got 1Mbit ADSL a bit later and that’s when it was even less important since bandwidth was unlimited. Banners were still there tho and were just as annoying.

For me setting up Android phone without it. Installed some app and got bombarded by all the ads and shit. Something I just don’t even know on mine.

How people can deal with internet without adblockers like uBlock is just baffling. Not only ads, but also all the cookie banners and phone app popups and other crap. uBlock will filter all this shit out so you just use the website without junk and annoyances.

I’ve used the original Windscribe back when it was still a regular x86 app that acted like a local proxy and would filter out ads and banners. That was early 2000s iirc. Even back then I couldn’t stand all this crap. Today I can’t imagine browsing without uBlock or at minimum with DNS filtering which can’t apply cosmetic filters or more advanced rules.
