Awesome. Thank you.
Do you know the brand? Sounds like my next winter project.
I want to make one with normal pickups - Out1 and add a piezo bridge with a three way switch for an Out2. Some of the sounds people are getting by blending the two are incredible.
Did you find any useful guides online or on YouTube for getting started? I have a decent set of tools, but this would be a new endeavor for me.
Well aware this would be a “me” guitar and not something that would have much of a value to anyone else. Some people seem to think they are building their own K-Line guitar.
Did you like building your own? I have a used PRS SE 24, which I got for a steal due to paint scuffs, but thought about building my own.
This is where guitars are right now.
Both Fender and Gibson are now owned by venture capitalists. Their quality of everything, from strings to picks to guitars, has plummeted across every brand they own in the last five years. It’s sad really.
You go on Reddit and people talk about the models and which one is great for this, or why they prefer it for that, but then you find some deeper dives into more recent spaces and people who know what they are talking about have moved away entirely from both brands.
If anyone is curious, you can buy a better guitar from Harley-Benton, Cort, or Jet than from Fender/Gibson and it will be 1/2 to 1/4 the cost.
“Please do our work for us for free. Thank you for applying.”
I don’t want to work somewhere if they can’t even open a PDF. The fuck kind of Windows 3.1 machines are they using.
The stupidest HR thing I dealt with involved an employee who had genuine mental issues and he always had the “everyone is out to get me”. He was African American, and would play that card constantly. The thing was, our little lunch group had a black woman and she kept telling him to knock that shit off.
HR decided that since we were all white and he is playing the minority card, someone had to go to avoid the lawyer issue as he perceived a bias towards him. Then we get a call about how HR was very sorry, and then suddenly he stopped following us to lunch and taking pictures of us while eating.
Someone in HR did some digging before firing everyone saw that I was a combat veteran and it immediately became a battle of which protected class is more protected. Turns out the combat veteran was and his dumbass said something about “he is a veteran and I don’t like that!”
I hate HR because they were going to fire us over someone else stalking us, taking pictures, and making up stuff that no one could confirm. He eventually got the help he needed after a complete breakdown. Ran into him at the grocery store and he apologized for everything.
You can, but then it switches from learning to discover something. Expanding human knowledge is cool, but then reality sets in with funding, getting published, and having to kiss ass to rich idiots who think they are just as smart as you.
My employer has hired a few PhD’s for entry level engineering positions, and then they always end up fired because they are too incompetent to do it.
“I have a PhD”. Yeah, but you can’t even do this basic shit and your doctorate is in nothing we care about, but you knew some people.
My only issue is with Congress telling us all “you have not seen what we have seen, you have not been in the classified briefings”. Yeah, I heard the same shit about WMD’s in Iraq where two of my battle buddies died, two more got wounded beyond any recovery, and a bunch more chose to end their lives after we got home.
“Trust us, bro”. Nah, fuck you. You want the world to support this, you need to share the information.
I got a huge strike, which eventually led to me being account banned from Reddit (seven year account, 600k karma) for calling out Israel for the pogrom against the Palestine people. Reddit is really trash now, most of the reference questions are 2+ years old.
It’s in a necrotic state of rot right now.
Want to back you up on a point. People have been copy/pasting, or adding fluff like a high school paper, to AP articles since its inception. This was happening well before the earliest days of the internet.
You don’t turn the phone off, you leave it at home. Unless you are removing the battery, the phone is not completely off.
I guess including gym fees, I am about that much. But they all get used. If the guy in the video was utilizing $1500/mo in subs and they made his life better, then go for it.
Ever since quitting Reddit and attempting to delete all my comments, search for “topic Reddit” yields good results. I have also noticed that all those best results are between 3-11 years old.
It’s all about who owns it and is sitting on the board.
Bunch of old money type people? They don’t care too much about a bad year, more important to weather the storms and keep the generational money intact.
Venture capitalists? Jack Welch this dogshit company and get us some short term gains!
