help-circle

  • American exceptionalism and identity politics have become so ingrained in the culture that it is too painful for people to identify as lower class and needing assistance. Needing help has become considered a moral failing of the individual instead of a failing of the society, and that feeds back into itself to prevent people from changing the culture.

the first thing you do is get a rag

Was because you were downplaying the importance of the rag. The rag is more important than the water is. If you’re cleaning a mess, and your choice is between water and rag, you choose the rag.

How commonly do bidet users scrub with both TP and water in a single sitting? The internet and this comment section suggests it’s pretty rare.

People are choosing between bidet (water) and tp (rag), and in your analogy, you’re saying the sensible choice is to wash something with only water and no rag. Your analogy only holds water (lol) if you don’t actually think about it.

Is that clear enough for you?

    Oh I totally agree.

But voting liberal (eg Dems in the USA) gives us more time to find a solution. It’s not the solution, it’s just a stalling tactic. Even when they’re trying to block opportunities, it still results in relatively more opportunities than otherwise. I think there is value in that.

There are times when spoiling a ballot or even voting the other way is good, it sends a message which may (unlikely) cause a shakeup. But to simply never participate just accelerates the destruction.
