my guess would be old.reddit disappearing.

The recruiters also like to remove your name and contact details so that the companies they are selling you to can’t bypass the recruiter.
The non removable Google search bar was one of the reasons I put Graphene on my pixel.
Ironically it was when the stock android upgrade on my pixel 7 completely bricked my phone (due to the multiple user profiles bug) that I decided to jump in to Graphene head first.
Compared to my experience running random ROMs on Samsungs back in the era of galaxy note 1 to 4, Graphene installer was so easy!
I fear they will go the other way, that is start locking down the pixels to make replacing their OS more difficult.
I wonder if the tasks pane has been added to the new outlook yet. Last time I tried it at work it was no where to be found. I like having my flagged items next to my inbox.
I’ll try it when i get spare time. Based on post #79 in that XDA thread, it won’t work on my pixel 7 as it also won’t install 32 bit apps, same as pixel 8.
I run Graphene, but as far as I’m aware it has the same 32bit restriction.
I’ve been using this open board fork: https://github.com/erkserkserks/openboard
Mainly because it comes with trace/swipe type input. Is there anything else out there that’s better and more up to date? Probably not up to modifying the above to include libraries.
I was a long term Swype user prior to getting a pixel 7, which it can’t be installed on due to it being 32bit. I’ve not found anything else FOSS or otherwise that comes close to being as good as Swype’s trace predictions. Sadly Microsoft bought the company that made Swype so the odds are it’s never going to see the light of day again. They have their shitty Swiftkey app instead.
I don’t have a search bar on Graphene OS.
Same.
I use simple calendar widget’s agenda and monthly planner. Glad to hear they are being forked.
I’ve given Neo a shot. Hasn’t got as many features sadly. The main one I miss is infinite scroll through home screens.
I hope they can marry IMAP and Caldav together in one app that can handle event invitations.
Not sure that I can live without that ability for my use case.
Guessing other providers with caldav will have the same issue for the time being.
Have just signed up to give it a shot.
Silly question, but is there a way to create an event and invite people from an Android app? (Like outlook)
I’ve currently got k9, davx5. and simple calendar installed.
I created a test event in simple calendar and included my other email addresses in the attendees section. However no invite has been sent by they looks. I checked the posteo webmail page and I can see the event has been synced, but with no one invited.
I have started trialling mega. 20GB free.
So far so good.
One minor annoyance I have had is keepass .kdb files. You can’t just open from mega android, make changes and have it auto save back to the cloud. Have to save out, edit then share back in. There is a autosync app by a third party which I have not tried.
They don’t even provide refunds for purchases where the developer has cut support, degraded the app or removed the app from the store altogether.
I was a long term Nova user also. Have tried a few others since, none of which I liked except Neo, which appears to have issues in 14 too.
Been using android since the first galaxy. Never have I experienced such a fuck up as when I let my pixel 7 pro update to 14. And this is from someone that used to run random custom stuff going back a few years.
Android 14 caused my phone memory to become corrupt and I had no choice but to factory reset, losing everything not synced. Apparently this was due to running two separate user profiles.
Somehow Google was too busy finding ways to get and sell more of our data and forgot to test if this basic feature fucking works.
Not looking forward to Monday when I’ll have to jump through flaming hoops to set up my work micrishaft authenticator / profile / intune crap again.
Other beef with 14, custom launchers are broken. I have never been able to stand the stock launcher, it is like babies first launcher. No customisation options and the stupid search bar can’t be removed. A few apps I use on a regular basis claim to to not be compatible, even though they ran fine for several days in 14 till the whole thing shit itself.
On the UI front I feel as if everything seems to get more bland each release with less interesting customisation than we had circa android 5.
I have one of those keyboards too. The track pad on it is way better than others I have tried.
For controlling kodi though I mostly use Kore from a phone.
When I ran dual boot I kept windows on a separate disk to my mint install. I unplugged the mint disk when ever I wanted to boot windows.
Still had the clock issue of course.
