My experience with big release distros was like that. I rarely had an upgrade complete without issue. Rolling release has been good to me so far. Granted, this was 10 years ago and things gave probably gotten better since.

I work in software and use my numpad pretty frequently. I’ll use the top row for short sequences of numbers, but if I’m doing math or writing long numbers, i really like the convenience of the numpad. I actually did preorder this keyboard though, so i might just use an external numpad if i like the keyboard enough.

Arch was pretty stable in my experience. Ubuntu broke on me more often than Arch ever did.
X11 because wayland was too much of a pain in the ass to setup on void. Plus herbstluftwm is my fave.

I used Manjaro in 2015 for about a year before switching to Arch and sticking with that for a long time. Recently I tried EndeavorOS for a few months, then I switched to Void just to try it.
I can solidly recommend either Arch or Void.
