  • If you start at zero, the exact same data is shown as when there is a clearly labeled breakpoint. It contributes nothing other than obscuring the data points and scope of discussion is only for the past month. You’re not making a cogent point.

Just like I said before, a 5% decline is not an insignificant drop or “very slightly declined.” Expanding the scope of the argument to show that it’s actually a far steeper decline in user engagement and then arguing the opposite point is misinterpreting the data. Expanding the scope just shows that the trends are continuously showing declining user engagement with no organic growth other than Reddit fucking up.

  • I’ve recently started wondering how many people are here because they’re too toxic for regular social media rather than because they want to be here.

This has largely been my operating assumption as well since day one when I came over during the Reddit API lockdown. I was fairly active on a NSFW alt up until recently and I’ve actually seen dozens of comments from new users mentioning that the only reason they were here on Lemmy was because they were banned from Reddit and had no other viable options. They were always an asshole to the posters and the reality is that with a lower population of users is that there aren’t enough other voices to drown out these people yet and you end up with a feedback loop of toxicity.

  • It’s always a good idea to err on the side of caution with an injury. Better to take a week or two off and be able to jump back into things where you left off than to end up with a chronic issue because you keep exacerbating the injury.

Front delt isn’t the worst spot, but your shoulders are involved as a minor muscle group for most upper body. If you are determined to try to do your normal sets, make sure to keep the weights light and really pay attention to what your body is telling you. If it hurts any more than a minor ache/soreness, you should stop.

  • I finally found a great and convenient gym and ending up putting on about 25lbs in muscle in 2023. It’s not as impressive as it sounds because I’m a very skinny dude, but it was nice to be consistent again.

For 2024 I just want to have visible abs again and put a little more work into redeveloping good cardio habits because those were two areas I neglected more than I would like for various reasons.

  • Personally I just block the entire community if all posts are made up of Reddit mirrors. If that’s all the posts that are there, that’s probably all there ever will be. It just clutters up my feed otherwise. There are a handful of lower post volume communities that I have mild interest in that I’ve let slide but it seems to have worked well so far.

All the options are pretty much all or nothing at this point. You can block the community the bot is posting to or disable bot posts being visible in entirety in your settings.

  • I follow YouTube videos for flows at home. There are a bunch of options depending on your skill level, time, and type of yoga to choose from. If you’re brand new I would say to not do a flow more than 30 minutes and make sure the video is geared for beginners or else you’ll end up trying to do a headstand or half-moon before you’re ready. When I was starting out I personally found ‘Yoga with Kassandra’ to be the best for me in terms of learning.

  • I personally like to do it first thing in the mornings on my rest days. It works mostly but can be a little tough if my chest or arms in particular are sore.

I would say just do it whenever you can work it into your day. As long as it’s not directly before your actual workout, otherwise you’ll risk injury.
