What I loved about twitter was the algorithim at its peak before musk bought it

I dont feel bad for rich kids they have entrely different realities, they grow up to be shitty adults, it doesnt matter that they are kids now, their future is set in stone, i swear billionaires dropped hella propoganda movies to get ppl to feel bad for their kids and expect them to grow up to be good ppl that change the world for the better if the public likes them, like that ever happens.

Like this kid wont be going to jail ever, no matter what they do, no punishment ever, yall could say thats a bad thing all you want but they experience heaven on earth for the only life we get, fk em, they get way more than they deserve since birth.

I would not have a good home or life in a meritocracy because im dumbaf, but id 100% rather have that where ppl earn there way and mfs that actually contribute to society are rewarded over this shit where we got modern royalty, all the power, none of the consequences, no visibilty, no responsibility.

yep its horrible really should start suggesting discord servers move to lemmy, self host their own, a lot of them would be better off with a forum like structure, but lemmy isnt easily crawlable either, everyone hates being searchable

wiki + ai search = discord except ppl are the ai remembering stuff said in the chat lol, reddit + google was once good, nowadays I click on the other results since the reddit reply is its already been answered use google

Discoverability, everyones following a common theme basically what myspace used to be, a personal site that reflects you that is easily searchable among other sites doing the same things for other ppl, a website can be anything, you know what a myspace page is, old internet was like this forsure, id stumble upon a lot of personal sites that were unique, not really anymore. Like the whole geocities, everyone has a wix/webs site era.

Like a foryou page for websites and everyone makes custom ones, all meant to be served to each other connected to activity hub, maybe it could be done with wordpress

essentially modern myspace but federated, same would like to see that, would be cool, some sort of home feed for scrolling through homepage site previews

I really want something like myspace for the fediverse, profiles that are customizable and can display videos, photos, 3d models, etc. would be peak. The fediverse needs more awareness and funding tho. So many non federsted platforms made to be turned to shit and sold to the highest bidder keep popping up. Like I keep getting ads for lore, no ones heard of the fediverse or lemmy, the platform the commenters are looking for already exists, they dont need to goto another mess that exists to sell their data and forcefeed them ads.

idk im sick of ai rnow, everytime I start to like it a bit I get so many bugs that I end up doing 3x as much mental work as I wouldve if I has just learned it myself done it, at least 3x sometimes 20x becsuse in the end I do learn it myself and can see the difference in time lol

Had to whitelist them on vivaldi, dloaded freetube but cant use my account on there or multiple tabs so its not super convenient

Maybe blender animators, vfx makers, edm visuals, etc. those type of artists would benefit most from something like peertube, dont get much visibility in youtube and peertube could be a return to artists and less whatever contents become

I think it has more potential for shorts, if they do that, shorts get hella compressed on tiktok, ig, etc. itd be nice to self host and deal with your own compression, and just pay to serve content how you want it.

Its simple, let ppl control it, algorthims are good when they dont favor controversy, which is what most platforms push to get ppl to stay on them, but they have sweetspots before the advertiser pleasing phase where they just try to max out dopmaine and you’re able to close the app satisified.

Linux uses less resources than windows by default, any is better performance and lighter, cachyos might be easier to tinker with, I got sunshine working on it fairly easy.

I think a lot of negative karma in a month leading to red names or something with it resetting every month would be fine, I just dont like the idea of one bad take silencing someone, or one meme elevating someone

Instead of tracking overall points track streaks, if they get a lot of unique downvotes often flag them.
