Thought I’d comment to add: if you’re on android and enjoy using F-droid apps Transistor, and URL Radio are two great apps for listening to internet radio stations like radiofreefedi

I think URL radio is just a fork that was updated to material design 3, but transistor seems more actively maintained :)

Yeah, that’s kind of the nature of communication I think, and ultimately votes are a form of communication :/

If people understand them to mean agreement or disagreement, that’s the message they’ll recieve regardless of whether it was the message that you were trying to send.

I guess if I wanna convey I appreciate someone’s contribution even though I don’t share their perspective I can always leave a comment; that seems like something I’d appreciate seeing in my inbox so maybe it’s worthwhile for me to make that a habit

So, I find people talking about blue sky confusing; if I search for a bluesky user to follow via Mastodon, I don’t see them come up. Does that just mean my server isn’t federated with them? I’m on mastodon.online, which I think is one of the biggest instances.

It’d be cool if I could actually interact with blue sky but it’s really not clear to me how it works if I don’t have a blue sky account and am interacting externally

In what way is mastodon a bad twitter alternative?

I love Mastodon, but I never actually used twitter much so I don’t have much of a sense for why Mastodon might not be comparable
