I was just thinking the other day that I really wish I still had a Psion. Tolerable screen and keyboard. Slim and funny form factor. Runs for days on a few AAA, and rechargeable AAA at that. I used to play chess and read ebooks on one on train or bus rides. Never liked EPOC(?), but it was really efficient.

You didn’t get a palm pilot to play games or scroll social media, you got one because you had a job to do.

I literally had a palm pilot so I could browse the web when not at home. lol

If you’re using one now because you have a job to do, what the hell is your job that they are fine with using such old, outdated tech? You can’t even put Salesforce on that thing!

I collect vintage laptops, and my wife makes bespoke kitten mittens. Our budget is $6.2 million.

I also love using a Palm Pilot because it helps me commit notes to memory rather than just collecting them for later. You’ll be surprised how well you retain information when you enter it into a Palm, using the stylus to peck in letters deliberately. There’s also nothing quite like the satisfaction of hot-syncing your appointments and ideas while your Palm sits in its cradle.

This cat is off his rocker, and needs to start taking his adderall.

I still rememberb the Palm Pilot input alphabet - every letter is represented by a single stroke and it was fast-enough and very accurate.

Actually we did. There was a lot of good games. Also I don’t believe the author ever had one if he forgets this important detail.

I fucking loved the games on my Palm Pilot. Started with an old OG Palm Pilot when I was 7 or 8, and I kept rocking them until high school when I had a TX. Soooo many good games, and the later ones could play mp3s.

I’d probably never go back, though.

But in airplane mode you could miss something.

On a PDA you can’t as there isn’t something you could miss in the first place.
