I have a similar story of woe.

Before they got rid of them, I bought a churro and was walking to the parking lot when I tilted that stupid sleeve (it’s not a bag) the wrong way and the churro slipped out and landed on that nasty pavement. A few months later my mom died.

Yall know churros aren’t unique to Costco? If your city has a Costco, it has a good place for botanitas.

There was this market where I would buy the most delicious sandwich I have ever eaten. Smoked gouda with avocado. Then the market moved across the street to a bigger space, and there they didn’t have a sandwich counter. It was the worst of all time.

The Tillamook Cheese Factory did a remodel and rebranded itself The Tillamook Creamery. But… they replaced the fudge counter with a yogurt counter. Who the fuck goes to a cheese factory for yogurt? The main attractions are the tour, the ice cream, the cheese samples, and… previously, the fudge. No more.

I went there a few years ago when locals were pointing out that none of the history or imagery in their “museum area” had any people of color, in spite of the many people of color working the line.

I wonder if any of that changed.
