Harrison also described Drabinski as a “self-proclaimed ‘Marxist lesbian’ and member of the Democratic Socialists of America” in a letter from July that was addressed to Wong. “Taxpayer funded indoctrination has no place in Texas,” Harrison wrote, “yet Ms. Drabinski has promised to radicalize the ALA to ‘advance a public agenda that puts organization for justice at the center of library work.’”

She makes Emily Drabinski sound pretty cool, though I can only assume this is wild exaggeration given there’s not a peep about anything she’s actually done in this article

These free speech absolutists sure like to ban books.

I’m not a Marxist. I’m not a lesbian. I’m not a nazi. I’m not afraid of being exposed to these ideals, these human beings, or others. I can try to understand them, I can accept them, I can choose to reject them. I can talk to my children about them and let them decide. I can’t do any of that if someone else decided I can’t read about them.

Lesbians don’t call for anyone to die, otherwise go away, or hide ideologies other than their own. Marxism is an economic policy. There is no stance on banning knowledge as far as I know. They criticize some ideals and reject them.

Authoritarians repress ideas and thought. Because they cannot hold power when people know there is an alternative. There is no opportunity to criticize.

I was taught about nazis in school. What they did, how they treated people. I decided I didn’t like what they did. I wasn’t taught about lesbians. If I had been, I’d have taken them over the nazis.
