Frame is a decoration choice beyond stuff about bases & slats that others have mentioned already. I got an Ikea hidrasund because having almost zero acrylic content is important to me. It’s heavy and a smidge taller than usual. Don’t pick this if allergic to latex or need to be able to turn it by yourself. Do buy a mattress protector! Even the cheapest Kmart nonsense will do.
