They supposedly can be disabled in settings- but we all know that won’t last. They’re going full Microsoft Skype mode and it’s only a matter of time.

Revolt is close but not quite there yet, I’ve been keeping an eye on that one most. It’s closer than Matrix to being a proper discord replacement, but it’s still too early to switch to it for most.
