I checked out a couple of your posts on reddit where you also mention that we had an active community of around 70k people across the entirety of Lemmy. I was under the impression that we’re a lot more. In light of that, it makes sense they didn’t pop off more. Shittydarksouls seems general enough to gather enough people

I’ve basically lost all interest in keeping my communities alive at this point. I tried posting daily myself, I encouraged others to join in, I had bots pulling content from reddit to have any activity there, people grew discontent but didn’t post themselves. Basically back to square one and don’t feel like starting out again. Guess I’m good without them

LeafGreen was sorta the first Pokemon game I’ve played. I played Silver on my brother’s GBC but didn’t get if because I was too little. Then he installed an emulator and LeafGreen on my PC and I was a happy camper

There definitely are types of posts where breaking it down like you did is necessary. But those are usually the exception of mostly absolutely fine posts that may just have been worded weird or not mirror the majority’s opinion.

I’m yet to see too many comments like in your example, but I’ve had a couple of rundowns with people about veganism as I had on reddit. Though I assume the subject itself is just polarising enough that the platform of discussion is irrelevant.

Dude, I remember people going OFF on Returnal not offering any saves and people having to keep their consoles in rest mode for days at an end because they wouldn’t want their runs to end. I kept arguing with people on rexxit that any respectable rogue-lite/-like has a save function - STS, Hades, Dead Cells - yet they still kept arguing that implenting saves would “ruin the vision of the game” and “make it too easy”.

Guess what Housemarque did: they added a save on exit option. You can now suspend your run and finish it whenever. Not having to potentially brick your console just because you can’t save mid-game sure is a boon lol. The game sure got a lot easier with this implemented. /s
