Weirdly, I think I understood this
Thunder is a solid app! I don’t believe that it has a display for large screens like PCs, but it is cross-platform in Android and iOS.
This directory also lists the dev for each app, and most of them are great at being responsive and helpful. Of course sometimes people get busy, but the development community has been great here.
Awesome! Have a look at the Lemmy Apps Directory if you are interested in comparing the features of existing apps. You should especially see the web apps section, which has some brilliant solutions to cross-platform and cross-device functionality.
Lemmy UI is only one option, although it is the default for most instances. There are a lot of different web clients, some of which will preserve settings:
I wonder if they would prorate? I ended up choosing proton as a better fit for my needs (since I needed VPN anyway, and I am a total beginner). They are also running a deal and I ended up upgrading and getting a prorated discount and a credit on the account. The folks at tuta seem pretty down to earth and interested in building a good name.
If they do end up giving you a refund/credit/upgrade, let us know!
Try staring at it anxiously a little bit longer, and see if that helps.
I’m just going to say it. Pixelfed is empty and Peertube is virtually unusable.
The marketing of the Fediverse as Mastodon + Pixelfed makes no sense. Sometimes Friendica is even still tossed in there.
Lemmy/threadiverse is WAY bigger than either one, but is regularly left out of the conversation. I honestly don’t get it.

Royole Technologies, the company behind the world’s first foldable phone, has been declared bankrupt.
Its first phone, the Royole FlexPai, launched in 2018 and featured a 7.8-inch 1440p flexible display.

There have been some platforms that combined form factors like Friendica and mbin
Can someone ELI5? What is the problem that this solves?
It’s a little bit naive and self destructive that human beings have created tools as powerful as mainstream social media with absolutely no checks or balances, absolutely no accountability, absolutely no transparency, and entirely at the whims of billionaire owners and nation states they’re in bed with.
Regulating and banning social media that is being used to blatantly conduct massive psyops should be uncontroversial.
I signed up months ago when it was first announced and just got my account confirmation.
It looks like in this case the answer was a little deeper than a simple search, but no worries - you set me in the right direction. I’ll add the solution to the post.
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Lol. Thank you. Part of the frustration of being a beginner in any space is that it’s not easy to discern which questions have simple answers and which are more complicated.
From the search you linked, it looks like this is as simple as typing the command
docker logs
I’ll give that a try, once I have access to the server again.
Where do I find that information? What is the exact command that I should type?
Yes, exactly - The assumption that FOSS means that there is no financial support is practically archaic. I pay for any software that is useful to me, and many other people do too. There’s donations, perks, exclusive content that subsidizes the core work, there are grants, etc.
