For what it is worth, when I log into my incremental.social account I see the posts you make there.

I do know about shmups and probably should have made that exclusion in the post body, I will go do that. But I input “shooter” into the community search and got flat nothing. No FPS or anything, and given how popular those are I’m very surprised there is not any community for it. Not great with any more specific examples because I don’t really play shooters myself.

I agree about consolidation. Also was nosing around for fighting game communities and saw a lot that should probably consolidate too. “Fighting Game” will give you more results than “Fighting Games,” seems obvious but I actually wrote that genre off as being totally dead on Lemmy before I input “Fighting Game” and found two that are limping along but not dead.

While I have peoples’ attention, strategy games have a ton of communities, one which has been poked recently into living (!strategy@lemmy.world) and many which are dead.

Okay, just realized the “Language not allowed” error I was receiving is not due to a content censor, but just because it doesn’t like that I’m trying to put my language as English instead of Select language (undetermined).

I’ve really liked shapez, especially the graphics. I have not allowed myself to go past the Factorio tutorial, because all my friends’ testimonies say it’ll just be $35.00 crack for me and I have a few time-sensitive things to finish! Once that is done I can open Factorio. I’ve been meaning to get further in Satisfactory, but I think I might be a bit too dumb for it because I needed to ask a friend why the game would not let me do this or that and have a few nudges from them.

Ugh. If you are suggesting it it’s probably a good idea. Just a bit frustrated that two community promo things exist, especially since in my experience this is its smaller cousin that usually just sees duplicates from !newcommunities@lemmy.world. The only benefit I can think of is that if Beehaw is still defederated from lemmy.world because of its size they can see !communitypromo@lemmy.ca too. Will be posting there soon…
