Honestly, I got nothing. In German, we would say Besteck or Tafelsliber.
Silverware (Tafelsilber : banquet/table silver) exists.
Besteck used to mean sheath, bestecken could be translated as to decorate with, stecken is to put into.
Germans use a fork and knife for everything. Pizza: fork and knife. Burger: fork and knife. Yogurt: fork and knife. Jewish souls: fork and knife.
