I think the joke is it’s a bunch of large gals in sequin dresses, and the sign suggests they epitomize British nightlife. Which may or may not be accurate, I’m unsure. But either way, it’s a poorly formatted joke.

          I expect downvotes but:

Taking this from Jeggs’ perspective, they probably believe you’re trying to pull the

sees offensive joke Hmm, to make the joker realize how offensive they are, I’ll pretend to not understand it to “gotcha” them by making them explain it.

tactic. It’s used enough to be known but not super widely known.

          And the joke is

haha, fat people at British Place! How expectable

which was obviously received poorly by this thread.

Taking it from Jeggs’ perspective – again – other communities may receive this more favorably, regardless of perceived offensiveness. (Yes, offensive jokes aren’t completely bad. I’ve laughed at racist jokes against my race. IMO this meme isn’t particularly interesting tho.)

Hi, I’m also confused. Perhaps instead of accusing a confused commenter of being offended you could explain the punchline to us so that we can understand what it is you find amusing about an image of people underneath a sign that says “British Meeting Point.”

I’m autistic as fuck and even I have better communication skills. Mate, if you aren’t confident enough in the humor you’re trying to share to simply explain the joke, then it’s probably not humor worth sharing. Please explain the punchline so that I may understand what humor you’re trying to share with us.

My French is shit but here’s what I got from the comments:

person: I am illiterate; what does it say?

person2: I hope it says that the English like glitter. Please, let it be that.

person3: <link to post with English commenters, presumably to run browser translate on it>

                  person2: As I thought -_-

Jeggs: Sorry for the English language! It says “British meeting point.”

person4: Reminder of rule 3 of this community
                  🤬 Mean things are shit.

I’m not sure anyone was offended. TIL overweight British women in sequins was some sort of meme. I think most people were genuinely confused.

Some American women have accidentally met up at the British meeting point.
