Yeah. A French equivalent could be “Nique l’extrème-droite”, but that would come out as ruder. Both words have the same literal meaning and same use in their respective language, but when " fuck" is used in French, it’s further from it’s literal meaning. “Fuck X” is then always perceived as a vague statement of hostility towards X, without the sexual connotation.

I remember sitting in a cafe in Copenhagen and overhearing a conversation at the table next to mine. I had no idea what they were talking about but “fucking” was the only word I recognized. It was about every third word they said.

Pourtant c’est plutôt commun au Québec. Ça s’enchaîne pas comme les sacres liturgiques mais c’est bien utilisé. Quelque chose peut être fucké. Une personne peut être fuckée. C’est fucking chiant. Fuck ça! Juste, fuck!

I am seeing no hypocrisy here based on her motto

How are you reading it? Angrily?

Technically wouldn’t being a democracy be an aggravating factor for Israel wrongdoings, which makes the population more responsible compared to Russian or Belarussian one (therefore including athletes)?

I don’t really agree with the rationale, although I personally wouldn’t have supported a ban on Israelis athletes (similarly to how I generally don’t agree with the same ban on Russian athletes - unless you are specifically a supporter of values that go against the Olympics such as genocide…- e.g., I agree with Karjakin being banned from any chess competition).

Blind (I mean literally, he said he supports doesn’t matter what) support to Putin and his imperial effort, public support for the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, helped gathering money for military equipment, showed up to the front to “support troops” and other stuff like that.

Wikipedia has a few lines, with a few sources linked.

You can see also a video (in Russian): https://smotrim.ru/video/2587296

Essentially the equivalent of an IDF groupie. Yuck.

I wasn’t aware of her comment. Googling for it showed me an article in English saying she dropped the F bomb. I thought it was in an interview in English but no, she used it in French, which makes it a bit less impressive.

Pour les gens qui veulent pas googler, voici la citation exacte

« Fuck aux réacs, fuck à cette extrême droite, fuck à tous ceux qui voudraient nous enfermer dans la guerre de tous contre tous ! »

Merci pour la citation. Indeed the fact she’s used the English word makes it lose a bit of edge but still, the sentiment is there.

She’s kind of hated though. Also she absolutely is a hard lib, siding with Macron’s government

Edit: i’m not saying lib as socially liberal as opposed to conservative
