Here in South Carolina whenever there is a weather emergency everyone buys up all the milk and bread in the store. I’ve never understood why lol
I don’t know who these people are who sit around in the dark eating untoasted bread soaked in room temperature milk, but there must be a lot of them
Can’t survive without our milk sandwiches
The day after a hurricane is a Glorious Day of Eating. With the power off, the stuff in the freezer must eaten when it thaws. Most expensive stuff first, so grilled steak and smoked brisket, both cooked without power.
Not sure why you would overstock on brisket though…
I’ve found that it’s worthwhile to know which HEB’s have dry ice. They have generators and will be open if they can.
My guess is the supermarket wants to get rid of the expensive stuff it will lose without power, so they put it on the news and make it seem scarce. My guess is a lot of people who didn’t even think of brisket ended up buying two. But I don’t know much about Texas maybe no one doesn’t think of brisket.
What will they do without more brisket??? Such a Texas thing
Resort to ribs.
